Getting To Know You
Who I Was:
When my dad first mentioned to me that I should learn more about the Punjabi language, I was extremely confused. I kept thinking that if I already spoke Punjabi fluently, then what more did I need to learn? My dad then pulled out a pamphlet from his jacket, and when I looked at it my heart dropped. On the pamphlet there were pictures of kids reading books written in Punjabi, and others were writing characters that looked unfamiliar. I immediately looked at my dad and told him that I couldn't do it, that it was simply impossible for an eleven year old kid like me. My dad laughed at how dramatic I was being and told me that just because I am eleven years old, doesn't mean that I am not capable of learning how to read and write in Punjabi. He went on explaining how the Punjabi alphabet only has 35 consonants and nine vowels but I didn't want to listen to him.
Who I Am:
The person I am today is a little different from
who I was when I was a little kid. I am still more on
the introverted side, and am still a bit shy around new
people, however I feel that I have improved a lot more
in the past few years. A huge difference is that I am
more willing to initiate a conversation with someone I
have just met for the first time. I like to take it upon myself
and say hi and ask how the person is, This way, I can present
myself as I really am and not have to feel reserved. It also helps to boost my self-confidence.
During my free time, I always enjoy reading. Reading is something I have always enjoyed doing because whenever I read a book I get completely sucked in and am not able to put the book down. Whenever this happens, I completely put aside everything else and just focus on the book, which leaves my homework feeling neglected. Even when I step aside and take a break, I count down the minutes to when I can curl up in bed and continue reading. With reading, I am able to expand my imagination, and always try to think of different ways a scene can be portrayed. A weird habit of mine is that whenever I am reading, I catch myself saying the same line but in different tones. For some reason this always happens during the climax of the book, and I think it is because I always wonder if a situation were to turn out differently if we were to say something in a different way then what we originally had.
Who I Will Be:
I always have a mixture of excitement and uneasiness when I think about the future. The uneasiness is from not knowing what may happen, and the excitement is from thinking about all of the things I want to achieve. I hope I don't change too much from the person I am today. Even though I don't think I am the greatest person, there are aspects of myself that I am proud of. I really want to try harder and push myself to go out of my comfort zone because I am one of those people who look for familiarity and flinch away from the unknown. I can't say exactly what kind of person I want to be, but I know that I want to bring joy to others and be someone who others can look up to.
Furthermore, I hope to have a degree in business and would like to be working as an accountant. To achieve this, I should start off by improving my way of studying. I have good studying habits, and study regularly but I tend to get distracted (blame my phone),and thus side track for a long period of time. Another thing that I feel like I should change is my tendency to give up easily. If there is something that I can't figure out, I either give up completely, or start to avoid doing that task, and put it off as much as I can.
Additionally, I would like the chance to go skydiving. I have always dreamed about jumping off a plane and gliding through the sky with the help of a parachute (I actually had a dream about this once, except I had no parachute...), and I've always wanted to try an activity that takes a lot of courage to do. I think the reason I want to go skydiving is because I have never been afraid of heights. I think that it would be a great experience because it is something that is completely different from my ordinary life.
I'm talking confidently know but I'll probably
chicken out the moment I'm about to jump out

Pretty much sums it up
The ending threw everyone off
Being attentive and reliable is how I would describe my personality. I like to pay attention to how people react to certain situations, as it gives me an idea of who they are. I feel that I am someone others can trust and go to for help if they need it. There are many things that I like to do ranging from watching sci-fi, and action movies, to going on camping trips. I love going to amusements parks because being on a 306 feet tall roller coaster, while screaming until my throat is sore, is thrilling and scary at the same time. The amount of love I have for roller coasters is the same amount of dislike I have for bugs that can fly. Whether the bug is a small mosquito or a butterfly, I will immediately be on my guard.
I'll admit it. I cried.
Will always be my favourite<3
